I'm not surprised that the documents don't match the car. Morgan use the same homologation for all trad models with provision for variation for each model. They should, however, make more effort to get it right where actual measurements are involved. The should also follow the practise of most other manufacturers and list possible variations in tyre sizes which can be important in some countries.

What does surprise me is that a year old car required such in depth inspection. Our car was registered solely on production of the CoC and did not require a MOT inspection (at an authorised garage) for three years. If it is a new registration the CoC should be all that is needed.

I hope it wasn't German engineers as in Porsche intermediate shaft and bore scoring issues or as in VW group data lies or Mercedes electrical issues and major recall ( only in the US - here they said there couldn't possibly be a problem) or the ongoing BMW safety recalls. Got to say that after a lifetime of technical sales to German engineering companies, I found their engineers to be well educated pleasant but inflexible people with a huge self belief. No worse engineers than any other nationality but no better either.

Morgan cars - well you know what you are buying when you buy and it isnt what you get from Honda or even Mercedes.'. But then compare resources available to Morgan and to Mercedes. Personally I find the Morgan quality issues I read of on this forum to be unacceptable. Other find them to be " character".

As for unnecessary bits of paper, you are right. There is a cultural difference in attitude.

P.S. Who builds those successful " Austrian" F1 cars? 😁 Sorry, couldn't resist.

Don’t be surprised Peter. The factory have a very lax attitude to such things. They should be ashamed of themselves. It might have been ok in the quaint old days but they are trying to attract a totally different customer these days.
