So a straightforward warranty job it seems.

Gear oil does not vaporize in normal use. To say that It then condenses is absolute rubbish and shows an ignorant dealer is fobbing you off. Feel free to name and shame for the benefit of other M3W owners! redcard

Thank you, I will email the dealer again and see if they can offer positive resolution. Oil is somehow getting in the bellhousing, do you think the dealer would need to remove the motor?

Clean the area from the bottom of the engine to the bell housing. Go for a good drive. After returning, inspect the area you cleaned, paying special attention to the oil filter housing on the left side of the engine. Mine was leaking there, and the oil worked its way back to the transmission. Fixed it with O rings.
Your dealer needs some help-.

As others have said, only sources for oil from the bellhousing hole are;
Dodgy clutch slave cylinder
Gearbox input shaft seal (unlikely)
Engine output shaft seal
And I'll add, possibly, oil dripping somewhere behind the engine and getting into the intermediate bellhousing through the top slot where the steering rack sits. Also unlikely.

Only the last one is at all likely to be a quick and easy fix, others need the engine out.
Good luck with sorting it out.

Who is this dealer assuming an official Morgan one? Think we should name and shame.

As with others would put money on it being the rear crankshaft oilseal weeping, although this seems an isolated case.

I agree that it is probably a leak from the crankshaft, but do be aware that the splined hub of the Centa coupling has a seal on the outside between it and the crank case, but relies on a bit of mastic between it and the centre race of the main bearing; this is the most likely source of your drip. I have upgraded mine by boring a recess in the hub for an "0" ring. This is worthwhile but only if you have the engine out for some other reason.

It will not be gearbox output shaft because the clutch is next in line after the Centa bell housing, not the gearbox.

Monitor the drips and if it does not get worse wait and sort it when you need a new clutch or Centa coupling inserts.

Good luck,
Phil

In the first instance, try e-mailing dsc@morgan-motor.co.uk which is the official address for service & technical related issues.
