I hope she does the show circuits and demo runs now and again after testing,somehow i dont think she is just going to be left in the ruskin to gather dust too much work has gone into it. Some might even say does Coniston deserve her after all the backroom palava over the last ten years. The boys who re built her and BLuebIrd K7 deserve better.

Richard, thanks for the vid link and photo.
Please keep us up to date on further progress.
Great to see things running again after all these years. Despite only being 8 or 9 y.o. on that fateful day on Coniston Water it did leave a lasting effect on me. Of course Graham, it's a joy to see this most British of craft taking to the water again after her last sad journey on Coniston. I was 17 at the time and remember being really upset watching her last run in black and white on the TV and certainly never thought it would rise again  .

Seventy mph on water is fast and today you would need some exotica to push a boat above this.My dad took me up shortly after his death and i will always remember a local guy saying that they tied sanbags on the sponsonson for some of the testing,true or not i can believe it.

I remembered from a documentary that Donald was under huge pressure which seems so dreadful when you consider the task facing him, but it often seems to be go with the territory when these guys are breaking new ground.
At the time they said he drew the death card from a pack of cards prior to the run, whether that was true or sensational journalism I don't really know.
