A nip with pliers has worked for me for over 10K miles since mine worked loose, but not with those symptoms or I would have responded earlier !
I dont like glueing metal parts together, call me old fashioned but it feels like a bodge - and in this case doesnt the locktite work as an insulator and reduce the spark ?
As long as it works I guess !

I use Iridium plugs and they have the screw-on nipple as well. Took them apart, hit them with Loctite and tightened them back up. A also squeeze the rubber insulator on the female lead to increase tension.
As for the comment about Loctite being an insulator it really doesn't matter. If it's tightened down tight enough there is adequate metal to metal contact on the threads alone. The Loctite mostly fills the voids.
With this car, Loctite is your friend and faithful companion...
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Wil Freeman is driving 48 states in 80 days. He broke down near San Francisco. Bill Fink (ISIS Imports) diagnosed the problem as fuel lines too close to the cylinder heads. He insulated them and problem solved. Wil is now in Rhode Island having crossed the U.S. in pretty hot weather. All is OK!

I thought they changed the fuel pump at Bill's first and then he set off again and this diagnosis was made after the car faulted in a short distance.

Ric, make sure you visit Ravello while you are on the Amalfi Coast and take in Villa Cimbrone while you are there. Very beautiful and great views.

Wont do any harm to check the electrical connectors on the fuel injectors.

I nipped up the ends of the spark plugs this morning before setting off. The car ran perfectly all day, and what a day. The Amalfi coast road as brilliant, chaotic, spectacular madness. Even through a lot of stop-start traffic in 32 degrees the car was doing better than me. More coast further south which was just as beautiful but much quieter. A superb days driving. It would have been very different with a stuttering engine so thanks everyone again.
I’d like to put up some photos but WiFi is very poor so I’ll upload some when I can.
Still heading south tomorrow.
