Hi there
Is there anyone on the forum that lives in Townsville? I am interested in finding out things to do in a Morgan there.
Thanks

Derek

Townsville? Seriously? Do you happen to live on Street Boulevard?

Don't live there but spent sometime thereabouts.

Parnonella park is worth visiting and about 250k north on the Bruce Hwy.

Great barrier reef.
Swimming with box jellyfish in that floating cage on the Strand.

I used to like visiting Townsville though the humidity & constant sunshine was tough.

Without wishing to cause any offence, I would imagine that although it's not at the end of nowhere but I bet you can see it from there.

Rubbish you can't see Mount Isa from there. It is 900 kms away. That is a 10 hr drive. When you get there and ask what there is to do in the evenings or weekends the local tell you to drive to Townsville for the casino!

Drive to Cairns then up to Kuranda (touristy but nice) don't miss the butterfly sanctuary, then on to visit the lava tubes at Undara. The Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park near Cairns is also well worth a visit.

Rather shocked at the ticket prices they ask though. I think about 4 times what we were charged last time I was in Cairns about 12 years ago. If that is representative of the current cost of living in Australia I don't think I could afford to live there any more.
