If it was a sraight line planned finish you can understand the frustration from shore,they might have thought the water brake slewed the boat or problem with the rudder or any steering issue.Perhaps in hindsight they should have vented their feelings privately. But what a spectacle proud to be BRITISH.....

It looks fast going at 150, hard to imagine seeing it going at 300.
From what I can remember Campbell’s last run before tragedy struck averaged 297 MPH !!!

I agree it looks pretty damn fast on those test runs, that's the speed that stuck in my mind too - I can't imagine doing that on a track or road let alone water. You must have a very good memory as you are a comparative youngster on here Stewart

You must have a very good memory as you are a comparative youngster on here Stewart My parents live in the Lakes and I’ve been to the Campbell museum, watched the films and read the Accounts umpteen times I remember he wanted to break 300 and just fell short by 3 as an average
