So, recent posts have confused me....is the 4/4 still a current model and if so how much do you think it costs.....? Nick

It is confusing isn’t it! I was told by someone at the factory and a dealer that the model is in its runout due to the engines not meeting the latest emissions standards and all had to be registered by the end of the month. But then someone says that that’s only for the European market! Which is really the market for the 4/4.
No matter what, the factory should have seen this coming and planned a replacement engine.
I see in the latest Miscellany, some comments about the car and they don’t know the full story either. There was a suggestion that they may make a Plus 4 narrow body and call it a 4/4 but they have refused to make them when requested by customers or dealers for the past couple of years due to homoligation I believe. I know that there had been an issue over suitable tyres....the Avon’s used on the 75th Anniversary cars are not really meant for cars beyond 1970something I think.
No doubt we will get the definitive answer at some stage!

I know that there had been an issue over suitable tyres. What's wrong with Vredesteins?

when i asked the question at TOTH about the 4/4 model to the assembled management at MMC i got the impression the 4/4 would continue for the uk market with the plus 4 engine. Its not exactly what the sales and marketing guy said "word for word" but the impression i got from his reply. Perhaps someone else who was there has a better recollection of his actual words?

So hypothetically speaking, if I wanted to buy a brand new 4/4 this weekend, could I? And would this be my last chance to do so?
And if I could, what would be/was the real selling price, not the RRP? Fell free to PM this if you like. Ta.

Doesn't appear to fit my MINI either. Shame, as I shall need a pair of tyres next week.

185/70/15 is available from Vredestein and Dunlop sport classic without the issue, that the car must be at least 30 years old. But I don‘t think, that the tyres are the main problem here, because the above information is trivial and MMC will know what the market offers. Perhaps it is the engine issue and the calculation how much must be invested to fit a new engine, regardless if a Ford turbo or a Mazda NA....Or they have a difficulty to get another engine at all.
