What a fabulous looking car. I can only envy your skill in restoring it to this condition.
I remember walking to school up a steep hill leading out of Rickmansworth in the early sixties and a dark green E-Type roared passed all the crawling traffic. The driver was wearing a bowler hat which nicely complimented his chalk stripe suit, military tie and red carnation buttonhole.
The noise and the image of the package has remained with me ever since and I have always been a fan.

Unfortunately I can't take credit for restoring the car.

I'll take credit for discovering it, finding the right restorer and paying the bills wink. I do get a lot of satisfaction from returning it to it's former glory and making sure it's been done properly.

The sadly deceased, previous long-term owner didn't have a handlebar moustache, but he was an interesting character in other ways.

Credit to both yourself and the restorer then!
Re. the photograph, and without wishing to identify the subjects, I believe that they might have been at the top of their game round about the time that the E-Type came out?

The picture was taken in 1959 - two years before the E Type made it's debut.

They were rehearsing for a show in Blackpool, which is where I bought the car from.

Looks sensational.

All you gotta do is keep it looking that way. I restored a coupe E nut and bolt but couldn't bring myself to get it dirty so sold it. Hopefully you're not daft like me.

My Woman bought the below a few years ago, like yours but tan not black interior ( I prefer black)
