Yes, I went to see it.....a bit more than tlc, ball joints, misaligned rear wheel and steering rack “issues” were just a few of the points on a long list. I would hope the new owner got a considerable discount on the price they were asking, the cracked screen alone will be the best part of £1,000 and a new set of tyres....
It had the potential to be a a great car but Williams estimate of 5k to get it “fixed” was hopelessly optimistic. The paintwork was also an unknown.
A really unloved car, very sad to see it. Nothing un-fixable (I made them an offer) but not cheap to fix.

Clearly Williams considered the necessary investment could not be recovered or they would have completed the work.

I just hope whoever has bought it is fully aware of the work involved!

I looked at a blue S1 at Williams, was very disappointed with the presentation, I think they still have it, trim and wires hanging off, which for the sake of an hour or two in the workshop could have been sorted.

Test drove the green car. No problem with the steering at the time, which was a good year before it disappeared off the Williams site. But the clutch action was horendous, like an on /off switch and made the car thoroughly unpleasant to drive. Dont know whether there was something wrong or " they all do that sir".

But it was a pretty car and had real presence

Howard, if it was the same car we're talking about here, could it be that it was a lemon some time ago when you were driving it?
Then that would mean that you were really unlucky with your first impression of these cars in general?
