Only ever did it for scruitaneering if you just stick the wool up without the mesh it will blow out,have a try before you go for the noise test wrap the wool into a mesh snowball insert up the pipe after the test it can be removed with a small hook. Any resedue wool left up the pipe will either be blown out or rust away in a matter of days.

Switzerland is tad fussy about messing around with components - so anything clearly modified is out. The car has been tested and failed - so they are expecting a fix.
Rear exhaust will raise questions and an expensive fix - along with new side silencers.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the car was never noise checked when imported.
FYI the test is every 4 years in the first 10 years of life - every 2 after then. Although it is now 5 years 2 months since its last test!

Still got the oval scar tissue from when I stepped out in shorts and branded my calf.
Good job they don’t test for idiot proof exhausts over here.

Yes Ankle burn is a bit of a wake up call. Mind you the good lady wife has wrecked a pair of shoes on them as well, that cost a lot more and stung a lot more.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

You will probably have to change the mufflers, the internals are probably burning away or sooting up. You will have to bite the financial bullet.

Take a look at db killers for motorcycles, they will be available on eBay, not sure if the dimensions will be ok for your exhaust, but if not it should be easy enough to have something fabricated, basically a baffle tube that pushes inside the existing silencer.

I quietened mine on the +8 a few years back. There was nothing left in the baffles after 10 years and 100k kms. Sourced some quietening material and had each box cut open and the stuff inserted. But I can't remember what we used. Check with Techniques in the UK. 'Techniques' <morgans@techniques.uk.com> mention my name Stephen Lindsay. They will remember.

Noise testing?
Build a kitcar and one test is for exhaust noise. Measured under specified conditions outdoors.
Not being certain but it is likely that cars have such tests too, but at the homologation stage?

Code 45 on the CoC relates to exhaust noise - drive by and standing.
A little google found the regulations - and it is 0.5m away, 45deg, 0.2 from the ground, no solid surfaces within 3m.
There is no way that it passed 5 years ago when imported.
The importer sent an interesting email today and will call tomorrow.

Does anyone have the original copies of the morgan brochure for the Supersport from way back when?
The ones online at RTCC don't have the "*not homologated" flag against the side exhausts.
Or have anything with Morgan Motor Company on it with information on the side exhausts?
