modern cars should be so good as technology, engineering and manufacturing processes are clearly so much better. But....governments interfere!
So now we have gearing that's waaay too long and engines that are strangled by emissions regs. people are now conditioned to drive torque, be it diesel or petrol.

then, manufacturers dump down cars for the masses with CDVs, over servo'd brakes and throttle lag. argggh!

I could go there and give him a push!!!!!!!!!

But seriously just consider how people get enjoyment. It can often involve getting wet, by playing (or god forbid watching) football, rugby, and do on, sailing, potholing, diving, blah blah blah, you get the picture.

We often walk miles in wet weather and enjoy most of it!!!

I think Howard is embracing the old man 'shackleton chair' philosophy, where comfort over-rides everything else. The slippery slope to velcro shoes............ somestick

I can see by the cars which you drive that you love to have the fun which great handling cars provide, perhaps with the exception of the Beetle! Fabulous stable of cars. Enjoy!

Surely you want a modern car to be as competent as possible, as they mainly have a daily function to perform?

My Morgan - has no function to perform...apart from providing a different driving experience...that happens to equal enjoyment.

Honesty means doing it right, even when no one is looking!

The comparison is rather pointless. You are comparing a vehicle that is generally impractical, rides and handles badly ( please don’t tell me they handle better than a modern car🙄) but has character by the bucket load, to a modern practical every day car that is comfortable, doesn’t leak, reliable, well built, generally handles well and doesn’t need suspension greasing . You just cannot compare vehicles but there is room for both.

That is what I think since I bought my Morgan!

From a technical perspective a Morgan is not worth the money -
from my personal view is driving my Morgan (and look at it) is worth every € I paid!!!!

I have translated my thoughts with Google:

A Morgan is not a sensible car! But worth the money.....

Maybe the Morgan cars are overpriced but the fun is worth every Penny.😎
The M3W is an other story... rather SM than simple fun 😈
