A well earned title and may he go on to better Schumacher's record. However I have the feeling Max V. was laying down the marker with that impressive win. It might just have been the Mercs were not suited for the density height in Mexico but Max really was untouchable. And my heart bleeds for Daniel

But when team orders tell the guy who was leading him to let him pass makes a bit of a mockery of the system....one of the races a couple back.

it's a team sport, so sometimes team orders kick in. ... but with ferrari losing their edge, I'm not sure it made any difference - he'd have won it in Mexico anyway.
Interesting how the pressure told on Ferrari, and they took some wrong turns in development... it's a whole-team sport! And then losing their CEO figurehead :-(
The Merc clearly still is more sensitive to tyre setup than others - just a little, but enough to make a difference. When Merc have had a bad weekend as often as not they've been struggling to make the tyres work well.
I see that Sky are letting C4 show recorded highlights next year - and the British GP live.

A great performance, Lewis is one in a billion. It is interesting that unlike many of the past world champions he has a separate life away from F1: some criticise him for this but to me it shows that he is a more complete and rounded person and will easily step into a new world when he chooses to retire: according to some pundits in the media this could be at the end of 2020.
I watched the race live, for the first time using NOW TV's day pass. The latest update to the Apple TV box has made the NOW TV product and Amazon Prime both work easily, for £7.99 a good deal. But I still prefer the commentating team on C4 and I hate giving any money to Sky, who own NOW TV.

The lesson of Schumacher, Hamilton, Vettel, even Button is the same. Tallent is usefull but what really matters is being in the dominant team driving the best car. he might just have made it driving a Ferrari and Vettel might just have made it driving a Merc but neither would have got the title in any other of the teams.

But when team orders tell the guy who was leading him to let him pass makes a bit of a mockery of the system....one of the races a couple back. but that IS the system, has always been. a bit unpleasant as a fan i agree but motorsport is like this. it is not tennis. remember the Schumacher years at Ferrari were all about the team focusing on his WDC, and that included development, testing, tyre formulas. everything from the getgo. Driver 2 was a tester, data source and wing man. i have a lot of time for Lewis. he works hard, has racecraft, talent in the wet and doesn't drive in to other cars or park at Rascasse in qualifying.
