Just spent the day sorting through old papers, and I came across two Mog-related documents:
- the order form I filled in for our first Morgan (from 1995)
- the invoice for the same car (from 2001)

Do they belong with the car (now owned by someone else) or should I keep them as a reminder of the days of the "Years-long waiting list"?

Cheers.....

Rob

Send to new owner and keep copies. I am thrilled to have the papers for my car, which happens to show it was first registered on my birthday.

Yep. ^^^^^ this!

I contacted the supplying dealer of my Roadster soon after I bought it and requested any docs they had.....
I would have been happy to cover their costs.

It was their demonstrator.

No reply............

They dropped from the dealer list soon after.

I agree - they belong with the car and so I believe in passing this all on

I fully agree with all of you however, should I decide one day to get rid of my Beetle Cabrio, I'm not sure the next owner would like all the stuff I have saved like every single piece of relevant documentation, he/she would need an additional chest of draws.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

They belong to you...not the car. OK, it’s a part of the cars history but you don’t have to let the new owner have the documents if you want to retain them for old times sake.

I put all the paperwork together for Nero but retained the purchase invoice....I keep them for all my cars. If the new owner contacts me I might let him/her have a copy just as I might let them have some photos or a copy of the Caramulo photo book.

I remember this discussion regarding a photo build record. I believe the consensus was that it should go with the car.

I had a huge pile of concours trophies for my white MGBGT. Initially we had them on display in a glass fronted cabinet, but eventually MrsW got sick of them, so they were banished to the loft. When I sold the car I parted with them all, except for the first and last trophies, and an engraved glass tankard.

When I sold my BV8, all the trophies went with it, except for two. One was an engraved piece of glassware from an invitational Concours at the Silverstone Classic when MG was the featured marque. Really though they should all have gone with the cars.
