Guys, I parked up last night, turned the ignition off and a few seconds later the headlights came back on, tried again but turned the headlights off first, again a few seconds after turning off the ignition the headlights came on.
Tried a 3rd time but put the lights on dip beam (they had been on main beam previously) and they stayed off when the ignition was turned off.
Do the parking lights operate if the ignition is turned off with the lights on main beam?

Yes, youv'e discovered another interesting thing about your car. I discovered on a ferry one night that my lights were on as I walked away from the car, it was indeed the main beam setting that caused it. Seems to stay on for a minute or 2.

I often have a little light show when I turn the car off. I’ve got used to it now and just wait until the right combination of on/off, dip/ full, sidelight on/off and ignition on/ off - gets the lights off!!!
They probably all do something like that, sir.

My BMW does that. It's called "follow me home-lights" or so. Supposedly to light your surroundings while walking to your front door?

Morgan possibly don't know this....
Yes my Plus 8 and M140 both do this. On the M140 it is possible to configure the time they stay on. On the Plus 8 not.....

Actually genuinely amused to think that my Speedster helps me to get to my front door at night.
When it had spent the last 30 minutes threatening to kill me!
Great car- now with a sense of humour!,
