By the way, I left the bracket & adhesive in position for 48 hours to allow time for the adhesive to cure before tightening up the bolts.

Has anyone tried to remove the gas tank to weld it? What is involved?
It looks like I would have to remove the fuel pump, sender unit, strap and shocks ? Anything else? Would really appreciate some guidance...

I will know more on Tuesday after Krazyhorse have replaced mine
I think you need to remove the rear wheel, shocks, rear bulkhead panels, tank holding bolts bottom and front, tank strap, pipes, with the swinging arm down low it should come sideways and out the top.

What would concern me is WHY DID IT CRACK in the first place. Vibration from what component and can you stop it is a big question. The crack is the symptom.
Upon going back to a page i missed i see whats shaking.
Is this happening only in certain years?

Procedure is as Paul says but maybe the swinging arm out as well. I had the swinging arm out recently to replace the bearings and repaired the cracked brackets in situ. I seem to remember thinking at the time that the arm would have to come out to remove the tanks as well but I may be wrong. Suggest you beef all 4 of the mounts up as per the Bunny modifications or you will possibly be taking the tanks out again in a year or two. Good luck and let us know how you get on KankeL.

Welding any fuel tank is not an amateur job as it will need steaming to get all fuel vapour out.

PaulR, Did you get your gas tank replaced? Any insights from that procedure? My epoxy repair is failing, will have to replace the tank. Alex.

Alex Yes the tank was replaced under warranty by my dealer, I just had to wait quite a while for a new batch of right hand tanks to be made by Morgan. The tank comes out through the top once the rear wheel and shocks are removed and the swinging arm is right down.
