The photo is of what was originally a SuperDry M3W which they stripped and refinished to look like aged ally.

The trouble with the brushed finish is keeping it looking good. You will see any blemishes/ marks and need to rebrush to remove. The distressed brushed look would reduce this but only if you like the look.
I seem to remember the DeLorean having a brushed finish and watching a specialist “touching it up” with a mule type sander.

Why not have it professionally wrapped with film? Product and image quality is excellent, virtually indistinguishable from the real thing, fraction of the cost, fraction of the maintenance, lasts 7 years or indefinitely if you take care of it and preserves the original paint color and condition. This way too, it won't matter which color (or age of M3W) you start with.

Brands Hatch Morgan did a polished M3W with pink wheels about three years ago. "Lady Penelope" is up for sale at BHM - complete with the FAB (FA13) MOG number plate. FAB MOG

 I've wrapped the bonnet & boot of my Aero - which cost around £1500 - a sane option in comparison to the factory cost of polishing. Wraps give a consistent finish, so would more likely look like a polished metal rather than aged bare metal, where the patina gives variety. Will
