Thanks all for the thoughts.

I find it much easier to work in the engine bay with the bonnet removed and as I'm doing a lot of work in that area, I want to find an easy way to do it.

Hi Bob, I think Simon should know. I've never removed the aft bracket, just unbolted the bonnet bracket and pulled the bonnet forward. But I've always had the wife helping!
You will need the bonnet off when fitting the Blacktop, when is this happening?

Coming off is not too difficult if you tie the two halves together with a bungee, remove the bolts from the front brass fitting, put a towel under the fitting then brace yourself midway under the hinge and lift from the front, pull it from the rear fitting and away you go.

Best to have a friend handy when you try to put it back on the car. It is unwieldy and aiming for the rear brass fitting can get away from you. Continue carefully to tie it down. Helps to have bonnet braces to steady it as it becomes top heavy.
