They are beautiful, Reg had his constructed to his spec and enjoyed it briefly I think it was a bit too quick for sane road use was the verdict.
He currently has a Suffolk SS in build for delivery next year which should be a little more tractable on our roads.

He'll be along soon with a first hand account I expect, Brian and Asbo went and admired it last year if I recall correctly, Reg has owned some very special motor cars.

I’d really love one. I’ve always admired them since I was a lad. But sadly just too much of a car for where I now live. Just imagine opening the garage door to one though 😍🤪

Next the "D" Type I hope. I did drive a Replica made in Florida but too low for our roads. It also did not have the proper suspension of a "D". It was interesting but a Replica built on another chassis. Not sure what it was.

A friend has a C type he built himself and he is determined to use it , he took it to lemans this year and is going to Spa next May along with Uk events . It was a bit hot in the summer for it !

Yes, "C" types are absolutely the best things on 4 wheels. As Rich said, I had mine built to be as much like the 1952 Mille Miglia car as possible within sensible money and even then, as it was a full aluminium car with a 3.4 engine, it came out at just over £145K
It was fantastic, I used to just go into the garage to sit in it and when it started up the noise was enough to make your hair stand on end ( which would have been nice if I had any )
I had a great year with it but what with our search for a London apartment and the fact that it was pretty impossible to drive either through towns or at speed limits, it had to go. My best memory of it was driving out to Snetterton for the VSCC meet, I was in the outside lane all the way, it was like the parting of the Red Sea and it got there in a very short time. It is currently residing with Suffolk Sportscars and appears in their web site.
It's replacement SS100 is now in build and I am looking forward to getting it in the Spring.
AS this will be my second SS100, I know exactly what to expect although it will be very bespoke but it will allow sensible(?) touring as it has similar abilities as a Trad Moggie in the luggage stakes.
The great thing about it of course is the fabulous XK engine. It sounds great and looks great and when you don't fancy driving there is lots to polish.
