Oddly, during the eleven years I lived in Roanoke or Smith Mountain Lake and crossed the BRP daily, I didn't own a motorcycle. Only after moving north did I buy bikes and find myself returning to the BPR for rendezvous's and rally's. Can't beat Skyline Drive and the BPR for a M3W road trip! It's also 'co-pilot friendly.

We should look into the Lodge as well! I know the Bimmer group I belong to wore out its welcome at the Peaks of Otter - as did all motorcycle groups - because of the noise. My suggestion is, wherever we go, we inquire and register as a 'car' club.

Ken - great choice too!
Anyone have a clue as to how many M3W's are within range for early planning purposes? Is there a dealer down your way that can help with promotion?

Guys - it's time to resurrect this thread!! This is truly one of the premier 'open cockpit' road trip venues in the USA. I'm happy to do the legwork. Most immediate need though is to reserve rooms...and how many?

We'll never come up with dates to make it work for everyone. It's probably best to select one on based on who can definitely make it this first time.

Hotel ideas:
Skyland (I think this is where Ken is suggesting?): https://www.goshenandoah.com/lodging/skyland
Peaks of Otter: https://www.peaksofotter.com/

Proposed dates:
April 11-14
April 18-21
May 2-5
May 9-13

Drive/Arrive on Thursday, leave/drive on Sunday. Convoy in the middle. Plenty of scenic, historic, foodie, winery and brewpub destinations. Roads are PERFECT.

Obviously, this is a M3W centric theme but any Morgan is welcome.

Thoughts?

I will try to make any of those dates work. I live in Leesburg VA.

I’ve done this many times when I ran a large MC. I’d suggest June. April and May can be wet, especially April. Hell... April can bring snow. And yes...Skyland Lodge is my suggestion.

I'm fine with most June dates as well.

I do recall a couple of wet I-BMW' BRP rallies in April!. Didn't mind the wet 600 miles TO the rally as much as standing around in the rain and riding with wet gear once I got there.

Even though I'm not an East Coaster, I'm interested. I would just need to find a place to park my truck and enclosed trailer during the run. June seems optimal.
Please keep me in the loop.

Front Royal, VA should be our starting point. It’s a big commercial and residential area. Perhaps a Craigslist plea would find a place to leave your rig for a few days for a fee.
