By the way - it is up to the individual but I am happy to let people touch and sit in my Morgan - but only if I am there. It helps to spread the joy and I have a small bag with detailer, cleaning wipes and microfibres in to clean off residue and fingerprints - well worth it in my opinion to see the joy - especially on childrens` faces. Also several adults who have sat in are now Morgan owners. I do not think folks should try to get in without asking though - that is sheer bad manners. My attitude exactly, though I am not fussed about fingerprints. They car gets used and when it is dirty it gets washed. I don't even polish it all that much, twice a year I would say. Perhaps this year I will get around to touching up a few paint chips and some wear marks on the leather, but only if I feel in the mood to do it.

My Mrs. keep bugging me to let her drive it - I've managed to avoid it so far, but the day will have come.....

Nope. Especially not to my wife. Her cars are always full of biscuits and have more dents than a golf ball... she doesn't even have a key to the garage.

Apologies if I have mentioned this in an earlier post in another thread but I am now very wary of people touching the paintwork of my car as a result of seeing what happened to my son's car after one of his children inadvertently touched the doors around the handles after he had applied sun cream. It wasn't wiped off thoroughly enough straight away and there are now an indelible prints on the door which are still visible many years later despite all efforts to remove. I think that it must have resulted from a chemical reaction between the cream and the lacquer over the metallic paint which, being gunmetal grey, shows up quite markedly. This may not happen on solid colours and I generally wouldn't have worried too much about this sort of contact if I hadn't seen the consequences for myself.

Yep, not a chance.
My Mrs. keep bugging me to let her drive it - I've managed to avoid it so far, but the day will have come..... I actually want Alis to drive the Plus 4. She has on a couple of occasions but does not really feel comfortable driving the car. We go on some pretty long trips and I think she should be able to drive it in the case that I am unable to do so for some reason or other.

When I went to see my current car I went out as a passenger as I said to Ledgerwoods's engineer.."this is the only time anybody else will drive this P4SS ..Drive it hard and show me what it can do !!"
So I agreed the deal without driving it.
Like many I have given a few drives to people in my local Hospice and Leeds cancer ward.
My consultant continually asks if he can have it if I die !!
Makes me a little nervous on the quality of his treatment !!

My approach as well. Our problem is cat footprints when the little bu**ers get in the garage. But they polish off easily. My feeling is that if the paint is well polished it will resist fingerprints.
