They're all jealous !!! You didn't detour via the West Country by any chance? It was reported on a radio phone-in programme this morning that a car was seen with its top down when the temperature was reading -2deg!

I’m delighted to report in to this thread for the first time ever, and can confirm that indeed I have driven my Morgan today It was the first trip, I’ll do a separate “first drive” thread, but I haven’t stopped grinning since I got back about an hour ago. It was just a 30 miler around some local back roads, but can confirm it lived up to expectations in every way. Roll on warm weather!

Some of the most memorable of my earlier experiences were in the coldest weather. Coming back home from a longish excursion a few winter's ago I passed Stonehenge on the A303 just as it started to snow from a multi-coloured Turner-esque sky. The tonneau cover kept everything at bay and the heat where it was needed. It is one of the few times that I passed the monument without a delay and as the only car on the road so I heartily recommend out of season motoring!

There is nothing better than driving in winter top down. Glad you liked the first drive.

Just back from a weekend in Newbury for the Swanmog Xmas dinner dance.
360 miles or so of real fun. Dry & cool but warm with the layers & the heater.

Yes and our first 'incident' as well! Just wanted a short run to keep the car in good condition as it had been unused all week so we headed out of Epping Forest via Theydon Bois and Abridge . It was a little bit windy and on the Abridge to Ongar road we saw a very large sheet of material that looked like rigid plastic blow onto the road. It hit an oncoming car and bounced into our lane . It looked like it would hit us head on but at the last moment it went under the car and broke up as we went over it. A piece was lodged under the car somewhere but freed itself after a few miles and before we could find somewhere to stop. The car was fine and I'm wondering whether the paint film protection was tested or whether the debris just went under the tires. Otherwise it was fun and in just 20 miles we had at two motorists beep their horns and give us the thumbs up and three or four times where kids were excited to see the car. It's so nice to drive car that gives other people enjoyment as well as the occupants!!

Tom, glad there was no damage. I once drove over a brick on the Italian motorway north of Naples. It appeared from under a lorry & I was hemmed in by a car on the outside so I tried to get it off centre to miss the sump. It made a lot of noise but no damage as far as I could see.
Today I washed the car in case of salt from all that Mway driving & drove it around to Felixstowe to dry it all off.
