After a year without a licence due to brain surgery and radiotherapy, I've just applied to get my licence back.
Amazingly, they didn't appear to want any money as I surrendered my licence for medical reasons.
I'm very much looking forward to getting behind the wheel of my Morgan. Despite the best efforts of a few friends, it's not been out much.
Note to self: I need five new tyres.
Out of curiosity but why did you surrender your licence in the first place. Surely it would have been easier simply to stop driving until your consultant confirmed in writing that you were safe to resume. That way you wouldnt be in the hands of that useless outfit the DVLC.
Wont you now get insurance issues answering questions about losing licences and how long you have had a licence?
