I have just looked at the new £400,000 Ginetta and it seems a very brave move to me. Good luck to them as they currently seem to have a nice business and I can think of a lot of alternative ways I would rather spend £400,000.

I have a soft spot for Ginettas as my first sports car was a G15 (the one with the Imp engine). That one wouldn't quite make 200mph!
However, history tells us that low volume manufacturers who venture into the realm of building their own engines doesn't end well... Hopefully they will get away with it due to limiting the production run to only 20 units.

Can't imagine how developing and making their own engine can be viable. Maybe in partnership with another company? I would also prefer the older car given the choice.

Manufacturing their own engine could be a warrenty ticking time bomb. TVR comes to mind.

I'm amazed it's their own engine.... that can't be cheap to do. I thought it was the V12 out of the Aston and so put together by Ford.

On a Mog members trip round the works a couple of years ago all the engines on benches being modified were Ford, there were quite a few new crated ones up on the racking too
