Started at dawn today 270 miles of twisty roads to Cape Reinga, the Northern most point, and back. One section of road can be.best described as having banked hairpins it was a great roller coaster drive.

Thank you all for posting your reports here and on Richard Hardy's blog site. The roads north of Auckland are new to me and it looks like a wonderful start to your odyssey.

The baggage pile on the back of MY13 seems to be shrinking...

No, that’s an optical illusion: the luggage is all still there (although we did lose soft toy kiwi that was attached to it this morning ☹️)!

Yes teifistar, you are right about Omapere, I hope you travellers are taking the opportunity to swim occasionally as you come back down the east coast, what day coming through Auckland again?

We are close to Auckland today currently in Orewa and heading for the Cormandal Peninsular later
