There is a bus gate on the A345 Castle Road on the way into Salisbury It is at the end of a bus lane, and is traffic light controlled. The idea is the busses can jump the traffic jams that occur.
BUT the busses don't use it as the new contractor will not pay to put the gear in the busses. So there it sits, just for the cyclists who are allowed to use it. At least there is no camera.

Near Sheffield Uni, the trams go under a big roundabout which is congested. They use a long double tunnel with a concrete floor.
Occasionally an impatient smart ar$e drives down this tunnel. At the far end the surface changes abruptly to ballast.........

There is a bus gate in Chelmsford causing mayhem and income, its situated close to a roundabout, is poorly signed and unless you are very local it will catch you out. All it really needs is a no entry sign with an except for busses tag and it will work, however 37,000 fines in less than a year, common sense says the signage is inadequate and its an easy income stream, or is that too cynical? https://www.essexlive.news/news/essex-news/chelmsford-duke-street-bus-gate-1845974 I know that one well, it's not enough to be a bus they have to have your reg number recorded or you still get a ticket !!!
