I never realized there are also centrelock alloys, since I have only seen the current ones (standard bolt fitting).
Does anyone know if there are centrelock alloy wheels available for the current Plus 4? I would love to switch from wires to alloy... Thomas, I think the company that make the Minilight style alloys do a version with a steel splined centre fitted into the alloy so it becomes a centrelock, but it's an aftermarket item not official MMC Yes, tyresave near Chester ( https://www.tyresave.co.uk/minilite/) have these listed on their site - scroll down to find them under the non-standard stuff. From the pics, they use a Minilite which is not pre-drilled for a stud pattern, then bolt on a steel adaptor with the spline drive. Look like the adaptors add a fair bit of weight though. Is that negating the point..? Ps - this seems to be what is used on the Grey 'special' pictured earlier in the thread.

Peter J - in that light she looks a similar colour to my Florence ( although I know Tarka is utterly different). Weird and messing with my head! On a separate note, I recall in the early 80’s spending a week at Boscombe Down on a CCF camp- saw both a Lightning and Vulcan taking off amongst others-presumably summat to do with the Empire Test Pilots set up in those days. Happy times HB

You could also contact ImageWheels as they do a lot of work for MMC since a few years. In the same way they also have provided the 4/4 80th anniversary centre locked wheels you could chose rims out of the whole programm and you would get an adapter for almost every type of rim. I had contacted IW in 2012 when I was looking for a replacement of the P4SS Minilite wheels because they had abrasions due to contact with the suspension and also because they are quite heavy. But then MMC altered my suspension, the car went back to the factory from Germany under warranty and I got new rims so I decided to do it this way even if the Minilites were really heavy, almost 11.5 Kg we had measured.

Thanks for all the tips. I’m not a great fan of minilites on a Morgan, the style of the original alloys suits the car far better in my opinion. But maybe Image Wheels have a solution. I’ll try them. Best regards

Funnily in 2012 I had chosen the same wheels of IW (which I did not buy finally) which later on fitted the ARP4 but when I recall it right in a 5 bolt version. Even with IW you have to take into account the extra weight of the centre adapters but the wheels are way lighter in total than the P4SS Minilite wheels.

145 miles today - down to Haverfordwest in order to not do any aviating again! Hopefully it'll be 3rd time lucky on Tuesday.... The weather was dry today at the airfield, and not too windy at ground level, but apparently some bad turbulence around 1000ft.
Drove back via Carmarthen and New Quay, which accounted for some extra mileage!
