Boot lid is damaged slightly, dash and gauges are available, seller sent me a video so I could have a good look around it. Even has the front cowl, grill and wings but totally mashed.

As it is a manual, was wondering how easily it could be made into a track car. As some may remember, my series 4 was the first (and perhaps only) full chassis change so went through the full strip down and rebuild experience with that. Not for me though having had a better look al round. Might work for someone else though for a track car.

I had a char with the seller along the same lines. I think it is possible, but not a project i'd want to take on.
As the engine is damaged one could fit an M series V8 to the car and convert it into a fire breathing monster.

The seller said it would also possible to register the vehicle as a "Kit" on a Q plate as a new chassis would be enough to convince the registration people that it was a kit.
Also commented that the cat B write off requiring the vehicle to be parted and the body crushed only applies to monocoque cars. For chassis cars as long as the original chassis tub was crushed the rules would have been followed. He does seem to know what he is doing.

The work involved in even making it suitable (and safe) for even track days would probably mean that building something like a caterham from scratch would be cheaper....

Yep!

After the early cars the Aero became a cruiser not a racer. The GT3 cars show the shear scale of redesign/rework that’s needed.

Does anybody knows which was the other car involved in the accident?

I assume there is a Police report and there is, or will be, a coroners report. They should identify the other car.
