As I've got to move the position of my horn to accommodate my Wolf valance when it arrives, I thought I'd upgrade from the standard MMC 'poverty spec' single horn set up to a pair of high/low horns - particularly as MMC seem to go to the trouble of drilling two mounting holes in the cowl tray.
As a result, I've ordered a pair of Fiamm 'snail' horns of similar proportions to the standard horn.
If this question has been done to death before then please accept my apologies but I did do a search - honest

Crawling under the front of the car reveals two unused female spade connectors with the same wiring colours (LGW & PB) as the connectors fitted to the standard horn.

1) If I brave the tarry blackness with which the wiring is coated and carefully undo the insulation tape between the unused connectors and the currently employed ones, will this reveal a sufficient length of wiring to reach a horn which will be mounted further away than the standard one i.e. is there plenty of spare wiring looped up within the insulation tape?
2) If this is the case, am I right in assuming that its simply a case of plug and play? (9 amp draw each horn apparently)

I did exactly the same thing on my Plus 4, the wiring was doubled back under the tape and was long enough to simply plug in, job done!! (remember it is a Morgan so the mechanic could have cut your wire shorter )

Yes you are right they plug right in.

I had to do some re-routing of the wires and still had difficulty getting enough because of the it had to get around the aircon radiator.

I too fitted a pair of FIAM horns but also managed to get the the opposit tone of same horn that Morgan uses.

My FIAM horns lasted a couple of weeks because I managed to take deep standing water in a rail underpass during a storm. I hit it at about 30kph and it was like driving under a waterfall. I was most impressed that no water entered the car but my new horns were only able to make a gurgle after taking the water. Even after they dried out they never really recovered so I fitted the pair of original type horns.

Or you could use one supply to run a relay and add a Neptune or air horn.

BobJ, it's because the Roadsters are fitted with 2 horns & as the recent trads use the same front harness other models end up with the 'spare' connections

Could someone please provide links (amazon preferred) to the appropriate horns?

Just got to decide whether to top mount or fashion brackets to hand underneath with sufficient clearance from the valance but hidden.

At least the valance will offer a little more protection if mounted underneath.

I note they come with relay although factory don't bother with such on Roadsters that have a pair as standard.

Will certainly use relay when I fit my Nautilus air horns as they draw close to 20 amps.

I have also converted to twin horns. Found on ebay the same manufacturer, I think it was Klaxon. You just to have a look which tone your horn is (low/high) and to find the opposite one.

When I found the brand new horn (picture), could not resist (with separated switch)...
