Fuel blow back varies from car to car, and pump to pump, it seems.
There are some Shell and BP pumps I use where it never blows back and I can fill a full tank, like any normal car. But others getting the last third of a tank in takes for ever.
Try making sure the flap valve is aligned with the hinge at 12 o'clock.
Also, it is worth positioning the pump outlet spout at about 7 o'clock so it points directly to the filler hose.

Thanks Peter-duly noted. I will check out flaps, valves and hinges accordingly and also try 7 o’clock!
I suspect I will end up looking like a whirling dervish at the pump next time

We were there 10 days ago. Very different weather then. Sunshine, but what a strong North wind, all the way from Norway. Early start for Southwold on the Suffolk coast, to avoid bank holiday traffic. Well protected Mog.

Just one mile. Been laid up after a shoulder op. Car gets MOTd on Wednesday, the last one plus a service. Just wanted to make sure it would start. Big trip planned starting May 9 for a month.

John V6. It was our first time in Suffolk, and we went because our son's girlfriend comes from Woodbridge, and he had told us so many good things about the area.
