I'm currently ordering a dashboard clock from Smiths for my 80th Anniversary edition 4/4, needs to be special order as It has cream dials with brass bezels so different to the standard black dials.

I was expecting a 52mm diameter gauge but the people at smiths tell me 60mm is the standard size for Morgan and I'm just concerned may be too big. Google tells me 60mm is the size for a roadster but it sits more centrally on the dash rather than on the RHS on the 4/4. Can anyone confirm the diameter of the clock with comes as an extra from the factory?

60mm is just what the factory uses on the standard 4/4 if you specify a clock - so: yes, it is "right!

(and i can tell you from own experience: it looks splendid when fitted (especially when YOU fit it in the proper space so you can actually see it!)

Clock is ordered but it's a custom order so lead time is at least 4 weeks Smiths say. I will post pictures when it arrives and when I get it fitted.

Where does it go on the dashboard? I presume you have to cut a new hole out for it?

Though my car is a 2006 70th Anniversary model it, too, has a cream clock (chrome rose).

Diameter of the rose is 65mm so I guess a clock dia of 60mm and this seems to be the norm.

Cannot comment on the position in your car. In mine it sits centrally in the overall dash, between the speedo and tri instrument and would be odd without it.

SER - I'm taking it that this is a direct order from Smiths? Is there a particular part number? And could I be cheeky and enquire as to the cost please?

Perry did it when his car was new, it really looks good, I didn’t miss the clock at the time so I didn’t follow suit.
After three years without, I think I’d find a clock handy now , I would probably give it a go. Would it help if everybody clubbed together for a group order, that seems to be four or five potential buyers?
