A Slapton run out, still so moving after all this time and so many visits  At least 749 young American Serviceman perished in the waters off the sands.

We talked to a detectorist, and he pulled a live round out while we were there. Avoid the black sand he said.

The Bomb Disposal Unit have had 3 trips down this year so far, one was a substantial sized mine which they had to detonate on the beach with full road closure.
That whole area is just like France and Belgium so much ordnance was laid down and or left behind we will be discovering it forever.

Yes a lovely area. My grandfather assembled D day landing craft for m knock down kits in Totnes. He & my father were in the Torbay home guard.
My father as a steam engine driver was in a reserved occupation & moved a lot of the troops & material around.
The whole area around Slapton was emptied of locals whilst they did their war games.

Still heading east. Started the day at the Riga Motor Museum a splendid display in their recently refurbished building. Definitely worth a visit if in Riga. Then across Latvia 80 miles to Cesis in glorious sunshine. Some unmade roads. Car is filthy. forecast goes downhill this weekend as we head north to Muhu in Estonia.

I only use 1080p with the advantage of excellent image stabilization.
Hi Michael, I can only select 720p on youtube ? Am I doing something wrong. Beautiful country, Im jealous of your roads ! Hi Bonesie, for the upload to YouTube in this case I choose 720p only (because of file size and upload time). The original is 1080p with 50fps. Sorry for the misleading info
