That's a bit sad another dealer gone after only 12 years this time.

Is it the imposed level of holding stock issue again do you know ?

It's true, forced out another excellent dealership bites the dust. I had an e-mail from them today as one of their many satisfied clients. A copy of my reply to Peter and Mandy below :-

Peter & Mandy,

I am really sorry to hear this. I bought my +4 from you in 2014. You sorted all my problems with the car and couldn’t have been more helpful. I have seen you at many Morgan events supporting the factory and the Morgan owners. I think it is absolutely disgusting that you have effectively been forced out of your Morgan dealership. There is more to being a Morgan dealer than simply filling quotas.

I wish you all well,

Keith

Good Morning,

We are sad to announce that on the 1st of June, after 12 years, we will no longer be supplying new Morgan cars and undertaking vehicle warranty.

This decision has not been taken lightly, but with the new dealer standards, increased investment and the factories increased activity in selling, it has made the business case unviable.

We will continue to sell used sports cars including Morgan and its business as usual here at Newtown Motors.

With all our best wishes,

Peter, Mandy, Tim and Glyn

Newtown Motors of Cwmbran

Cash is King. But if you have no dealers it is hard to sell cars.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I was just logging on to make a post but I see the news has already made its way here smile

A very sad day for us, but thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years, we can honestly say we have throughly enjoyed being a dealer and have some really fond and happy memories to take with us and of course we have met some lovely people and even built good friendships along the way! We of course will still be selling used Morgans and here for anyone who needs any help or advice etc!
Thank you so much from Mandy, Peter and the team at Newtown Motors x

Didn't realise Holdens were no longer a dealership, it isn't all that long ago they were appointed instead of Stratstone in the Midlands.

Same for Beamish in the North East

Popped in to see them holidaying in Northumbria at the end of April and they said exactly the same as Newtown

Going forward they will no longer be a dealer of new Morgans

Sad to see that MMC appear to be enforcing destructive operating standards onto their dealer network.
Sad to see that Newtown are leaving the franchise.
I wonder who will be the next dealer to leave?

I have witnessed similar activities in another franchise network.
In that case, it was a result of head office management arrogance and a lack of retail experience by the management in question.
