I'm not sure what the stages are. But, if it helps describe the process, I pulled out the cats and then installed the G56 exhaust.

Other than performance issues as I described above, less heat radiates from the exhaust system. I inadvertently put my hand on the exhaust shield after a drive and I was surprised the shield was not hot.

You removed the cats in the g56 pipes before install? You were not shipped a new ECU? Then that would be a Stage 1 with complete headpipes, mufflers and bobbins for mounting. If that correct?

I like the idea of having a new complete set to modify and the oem to put aside for future return to stock config if necessary.

The G56 exhaust did not have cats. So, I'm now catless - but there is no inspection or testing requirement here for motorcycles.

No new ECU. I was wondering if one would be needed, but it is not.

Looks like G56 is the ticket.

What does the inside of the G56 air cleaner look like? Photos please.

I personally do not care for the appearance of the exterior of the G56 air cleaner compared to the S&S Stealth with the Muscle cover.

It no doubt works but what does the inside of the air cleaner look like? Does it have the Venturi cone?

No, it"s flat like the OE one.

Dan at Krazyhorse told me the ones with the internal cone are worth a couple of extra horses over the flat backed ones.

Thank you, that is the info I was seeking. Looks like S&S intake combined with the G56 pipes is now on my list of things to do.

The CATs are embedded in the header pipes, not the replacement pipes, so unless you physically removed (with some difficulty in truth) them when you have the thing apart, you'll still have them in there blocking things up. Unless you need them for emissions (which they don't really help much anyway), then all they do is be a nuisance.
