Pete,
Driving a Morgan isn't that sensible: I don't see how a detached retina in one eye makes it more, or less sensible, once it has healed.
According to the DVLA for a car licence you don’t need to tell DVLA if you have monocular vision if you’re still able to meet the standards of vision for driving with the other eye.
If the damaged eye causes strange visual effects it is acceptable to wear an eye patch over that eye. I had Uveitis some years ago and drove for about 6 weeks with a "piratical eye patch"
Hope it all heals well and you keep the Morgan!

Pete.
As others have said don't make a snap decision on this until you know the outcome of retained vision in the effected eye.
Here's hoping for a fantastic result post surgery, but as it sound like you won't find out the post surgery vision until July / September, it will be getting on to be too late to sell the Mog anyway.
If it was me I would keep both cars until the result is known, then worst case scenario at least you are familiar with your current vehicles and better able to peddle them about.
In the meantime it is very enjoyable and no doubt therapeutic to look at the ads for various exotica and ponder!
Best wishes

In 1984 I had two simultaneous spontaneously detached retinas, one had peeled back a bit over 50%, which generally means some permanent residual loss in that eye. Back then it was cryosurgery and rubber bands behind the eye to fix it. I spent 6 days with both eyes bandaged, and then I cannot remember how long with a patch before or one I could drive, not that long though. When I did drive what I noticed was a lack of depth perception as the binocular vision was out of whack. This too gradually came good and about 6 months later when my eyes were tested I had what they used to call 20/20 vision back in both eyes. I only started to need reading glasses 8 years ago. My Surgeon was like a god to me and every year for about 20 years I bought him a Christmas present.
Again I can’t remember the exact time frame but I was back racing my Mini, my go-kart and my road race motorbike in less than a year.
If you are thinking of swapping due to practicalities fine but if it’s worry over how your eyes will recover then hold back. Surgery these days is much more sophisticated, so the chances of you suffering any residual issues are even smaller, don’t rush into any sale yet is what I am saying, not only is there light at the end of the tunnel, it will be well focused light with good depth of field 😄.

Another story that could be concluded " hold fire"
My dad was a keen Morgan owner when he had to have a triple bypass heart op in his mid 50s. It shock him big time and the immediate aftermath of his op, during the early days of recovery, decided that a Morgan was "too much" for him. You know - greasing / heavy steering / hood etc.
So he sold it. He luckily got better within 6 months and hankered after a special car again. He went the TVR route which he didn't gel with, lost quite a bit of cash in the process and was left unable to get back into a Morgan simply due to the price of them.
He often says he wished he'd waited before taking the decision to sell the Morgan.
So Pete I'd hang fire and review the decision in 6 months time.
After that maybe a Mustang ( new type) would fit the bill if the Morgan has to go. Lovely thing with the V8 - although quite bulky. Also be careful if your going secondhand - I have MOT'd several now that have just had their first MOT at 3 years. The lack of rust-proofing/surface rust in seams on the underside really shocked me - I'd want to see underneath before I bought one.

Some interesting cars would satisfy your criteria. For the need to carry 4 people and performance requirements I would go for an AMG C63. The V8 rasp is fantastic, they have so much performance, the ergonomics very good. IMO it does not do anything badly excepting you have to read the manual to understand how the infotainment system works —— I have not worked out how to turn the radio off; I just turn the volume down LOL There are some bargains out there too: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/...mg-2008/9744534
