Pretty sure it is the chassis cracks in the upright tube at the front lower wishbone mount, the same ones that were reported on TM almost a year ago.
Has anyone been contacted by MMC or a dealer to have their M3W inspected yet? I don't mean after you have contacted them about it but a letter or email requesting you to get your car checked. My car is a 2013 one, so comes within the group for the recalls, I have not been contacted by anyone yet. I have contacted one dealer but had no reply but thats another story. I know other early car owners and none of them have been contacted either. As the TM monitoring M3W owners only consists of a fairly low percentage of owners, probably less than 10% are listed here, I don't think that a post on TM from MMC about a recall is all that is needed to get to most of the cars involved.
I am aware that my car has the later pedal box and a 2015 chassis now, so no actual panic about getting it checked. I doubt that MMC are aware of the mod state of my car and it would be nice to get a real recall letter or email. I would be very interested to hear if anyone has had one.

You ask some very important questions planenut. I am sure there are many M3W owners who are now looking at TM for information, background and direction even if they have not formally registered. A quick check of "Morgan" Facebook pages finds the post 2011 3 wheeler group has the recall (seen by 118) but I saw no reference to the recall on some other sites. Nothing on the MMC web site under NEWS or the 3 WHEELER MEDIA CENTRE that I could find at the time. I have seen one recent newsletter from a Morgan dealer but it makes no reference to the Recall or mentions it in the advertising blurb for a used 2014 M3W (they did however respond promptly on the issue when asked). Judging by the response provided by Mark Evans in " Cracked and bent chassis" (October 2018) answering question 3, this may be problematic 3) How many pre January 2014 await checking and or repair? This is more difficult to answer, obviously we sent letters via the DVLA database, but we didn't necessarily have all customer addresses for overseas owners, in that instant each dealer was informed of each vehicle (by chassis number) they had sold that required checking. Additionally a formal network bulletin was issued instructing dealers to check cars while in for the annual service.
(I could repost the entire item but will spare you all from the ensuring teary tantrums...) ps,I forgot Twitter - may be worth contacting stray M3W owners that way

Many thanks for posting those photos. Do you know if they had to remove the pedal box? I would assume yes as the brake pedal needs to be drilled for the longer clevis pin. How long did the whole job take? As I am going to have to find a non-Morgan garage to do the work, in the absence of a competent local Morgan Service dealer, the more information I have in order to approach someone, the better. Sadly my nearby air cooled competition Porsche garage in Draguignan, who did an excellent and very quick job on replacing leaking transaxle gaskets and seals on my 911RSR, have shut down after their two mechanics retired. They would have been ideal. Just looking at your posted photos, does the part of the new bracket, arrowed in blue, have a forked end so that it fits over the torque tube between the pedal and the master cylinder actuation arm? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2019/07/03/M3W-Pedal-Box-detail2.jpg) Wilson

I doubt the pedal box will need removing, the pedal hole for the new bracket clevis pin is there already. It will be a bit fiddly working down the footwell but not impossible. Quite a good modification, you won't lose all brakes if the weld fails. Thanks for the good photos JMD.

On the assumption then that there is a forked end to the arm on the new bracket that sits over the torque tube, that is probably a DIY job for me. It really just involves removing the existing clevis pin sitting the bracket in place and then replacing the two clevis pins. The fiddly bit is going to be getting the split pins back in and folded over.

Yes it is done without much dismantling but requires a slim build plus agility (characteristics of the RTCC mechanic who did the work!). Job was done within the hour that MMC indicated it should take. The new arm does have an indented end that nestles against the torque tube.

Many thanks for the information. I meet the slim requirement but not too sure about the agile :-) I have sent an email to Adrian at MMC saying I would like to do the job myself and asking for the kit to be sent to my UK house, where I will be for a couple of weeks in 10 days time. Wilson

Just called into my local dealer , where they confirmed your thoughts re chassis exactly planenut. It looks like this will as usual be driven by owners requesting a check ( confirmed as visual check only ) , and on dealer approval the parts to brace the upright are ordered and fitted. The dealer had been issued an identical note on the morgan dealer system regarding the mod , plus parts details if required.
