I’d go with written confirmation or otherwise, with the relevant EU regulations quoted and linked to.

So according to MMC an EU4 with the "EU3 facelift" does get a COFC for the EU ... that could work as well.
Interesting, that is contrary to what they told a UK dealer a couple of months ago so maybe MMC have rechecked with the EU powers that be. +1. I would want written confirmation of that. Correction - I would want to see a copy of a COFC that has been issued in respect of a similarly modified EU4 before placing an order.

Allright i'm gonna use common sense and logic here (aside from the fact that I have an email from a senior official in MMC stating it) but there is 2019 M3W's listed for sale in mainland Europe with the whole EU3 facelift and 0km on the clock and I doubt they are sold without COFC's. In fact I've seen very very few mainland listings with the EU4 apperance in the EU4 millesime of production. Most dealers seem to place orders with the EU3 apperance pack - so if it was an issue in the first place why would they do so (2019 listings in France, Spain, Norway, Germany etc ...)
I'll make sure to tell them that this fact isn't crystal clear to the common folk on my visit to the factory next month.

Look at it this way, Osten. The EU Regulation containing the EU4 requirements necessitated changes to the EU3 M3W - ride height, rear lights, intake manifold, etc. If those changes were not required in order to comply with EU4, why should MMC bother to manufacture vehicles that to the eye of most owners look worse than the EU3? So if those changes are a requirement, MMC/dealers need to demonstrate that reversing them would not breach the Regulation, which requires compliance for the first 20,000km of a vehicle's life. The Police or testing stations may not notice, but if you were to sell the vehicle as EU4 compliant when it is not, you must take the risk - hence my suggestion that you should request sight of a COFC for a modified EU4.

Hi Osten, From the MMC Three Wheeler microsite specification page: EU3 is homologated for UK, USA and Rest of the world (ie not for Europe) EU4 is Homologated for UK and Europe. https://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/M3W-110-Years-Price-Lists-Low-Res.pdfI know of people who have tried to buy a 2018/9 new M3W for registration in Europe and been advised by MMC, via a main dealer, that this is not possible.MMC were slighlty vague on the cutoff date but anything newer than mid 2017 will need to be EU4 without any appearance pack. However, a UK registered EU3 or EU4 with EU3 apperance pack can continue to be used in Europe and maybe that is where the confusion is . I know you've been on a long journey ot fiond your M3W but please make sure that MMC are absolutely clear in a letter (not an email) that the car they supply to you will come witl ALL neccesary documents and approvals to allow it to be regiseted in Mainland Europe.

So let's summarize this shall we:
The first models where hidden R&D with loads of issues, 2014 - 2017 is the sweet spot, 2018 onward is a dog's breakfast look wise, reliability is a gamble, information about ownership is at best incomplete or doesn't exist and finally the factory sells options that are maybe not compliant in the markets they are destined to. There's still the mystery of Facelifted LHD EU4 M3W available for sale brand new in dealers all over Europe - if they're not suppose to be sold that way why are they all on display.
I've funneled this request all the way to upper management - They've been nothing less than amazing so far. Worst case scenario here is having to sell the car when I (and If) i head back to Europe and If i have to clock 20.000km on that machine before bringing it back - well this wouldn't be the worst thing i'd have to do.
I've also contacted all the dealers in France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg who are selling new 2019 LHD EU4 M3W with EU3 facelift to ask:
1. If the vehicle is delivered from factory with a COFC with a EU3 appearance pack and if there is any issues for resell
This should clear up things

Well it does say fastidious owner in your signature - Pretty sure i fit the job description too now First answer came in from one of the French Dealers and he states that the EU3 pack for the EU4 doesn't impact conformity and meet European legislation. Point for EU4
