If you really want to keep water out, and style is not a consideration, then get a Seal-Line bag. Very durable and easy to lash to a rack. I have hard Pelican cases and they are indeed waterproof but are hard to lash in place because the strapping a nd lashing cords have nothing to sink into.

With the amount of rain we are continuing to get this year, I almost thought I was living in Scotland

We use a Jofma tailbag under the boot and Givi 80ltr waterproof bag on the rack with a foldable trolley bungee fixed to the bag . Off load the washing into the tailbag using the hotel laundry bags to separate along the way.

Jofma bags fit nicely across the rear wheel and are available in 42L or 50L

What kind of straps are people using to keep things on the luggage rack? I know Morgan makes a nice looking luggage strap but if you still want to have style points is there any reason to not just use a really long leather belt?

We have a nice suitcase to slap onto the rack and I am absolutely overthinking trying to figure out what the "right" way to keep it on there is.
