As the question about the stolen wheels was also a point in "spare wheel safety no.1"... I copy my sight of the thing:
I don't know. But the way that it is fixed allows an easy collect. So I found the idea to prevent it good.
For example two other things: it's unusual that Morgans are demaged by vandalism. After collect the new car in November last year at BHM and 2500 kilometres in GB at the first night at home (in germany) it was scratched. Unusual, but fact. I also own a classic MINI. This cars have a roofsurroundig which is fixed by two small (expensive) clambs.
Usual all classic-MINIowners are friendly collegues and there is a big friendship, like the owners of a lot of other british cars. But what's about my clambs? Stolen, both. 10EUR each.
So I like the idea my spare wheel fits better my MOG than someone others garage or partyroom for decoration.

A nice simple solution for those who feel they require the security. Another simple solution is to remove the centre screw fixing mount and mount an old wheel hub in its place, the spare can then be secured with a std. octagon wheel nut, not many thief’s would carry a octagon spanner and mallet.

Any thief carrying the spanner and mallet would likely have a jack too. They'd help themselves to the full set of wheels!

surely wheels are not stolen in trimley and if they are they are probably articulated lorry tires?
Rob, I posted it for Rene as he couldn't get the photos to show. I doubt there are wheel thieves in Trimley. John

They possibly would also need to bring 8 bricks with them, so as to retrieve the jack.

It's happened at least once in a hotel car park somewhere. Are we still talking wheel stealing? Many other things that happen in hotel car parks can cause a conflict with forum rules..😈
