I have two Optima batteries. One on the bulkhead of My '63 +4-4STR Many miles including to Europe and Back. I bought an Optima because it was not an acid battery and did not eat out the top of the bulkhead. The Other came with My DHC. As I had a good battery no reason to replace it. I have no idea how many years either have been in these Morgans, but a very long time. Expensive but worth every penny

Thanks Bill and everyone - I bit the bullet and purchased the odyssey pc 925 as it was the only one that fits - made up a new alloy top bracket to match the original retaining bolts mounted the battery on its side and all good. The one thing I discovered with my research is that these AGM batteries require a charger that can run 25% of their AH rating in bulk charging mode to retain full capacity . So I may have to buy a bigger Ctek !
