True but fortunately the ASA doesn't overly concern itself with linguistic subtleties:
"The ASA will take into account the impression created by advertisements as well as specific claims. It will rule on the basis of the likely effect on consumers, not the advertiser's intentions."

I suppose the claim ‘we buy any car’ is the company name not a promise They actually state it in their advertising blurb.

If I recall correctly We buy any car run a tv advert showing a Lord so-and-so selling his supercar (Ferrari I think) which sort of reinforces their claim to buy any car.
It reminds my of the Bonzo dog doo da band's audio sketch about the 24 hour dry cleaners. "It'll be three weeks" " but the sign outside says 24 hour cleaners" "yes that's just the name of the shop"

Showing my age now. "unless there's an "R" in the month, in which case it will be 4 weeks". Ah, I loved the Bonzos. I once took a pair of shoes into a local shop to be repaired and they said they would be ready on Thursday. When I pointed out the sign on the shopfront said: "shoe repairs while you wait" I was told I could have the shoes repaired while I waited if I brought them back on Thursday. That was the only day their shoe repair man worked!

I did the same with my s1 elise (wbac that is) it started at £7.5k and over the last 6 months it went to £12.7K and has fallen back to £12.5 as of today's pestermail which of courses is approx 50 to 60% of what a Sport 160 is worth

I seem to recall Paul 'O'Grady had a beautiful Aeromax a few years ago so quite why the guy in question wouldn't get a Morgan is beyond my terms of reference.
We have all moved on a bit since the 1960's thank God.
btw Mrs Rutter has a shocking pink Morgan but I don't think she will be selling it.
