Took Moggie out to the weekly car show at Quaker Steak and Lube. Brought home a trophy! We got caught in the rain on the way to the event. One of my mates theory is that she won the trophy because the interior had just been thoroughly washed. Not to mention that the passengers were soaked to the bone along the way. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.talkmorgan.com/gallery/26/full/38418.jpg)

Yesterday, up the A1, off near Wetherby, bite to eat at a roadside pantry, then a bit further across to the left, up past Bolton Abbey, through the Yorkshire Dales (oh my lord how beautiful is our wonderful country) and,177 miles later arrived at a posh gaff near Bainbridge. Compared to the Fens, the hills and valleys of the Dales are summat else! I LOVE DRIVING my little old Florence. Even Lady HB seemed at peace despite the narrow roads across the Dales. We passed a scarecrow festival somewhere which was a real treat! And then, today, 162 miles back home again via a more direct route back to the A1. Following the upgrade to our stereo courtesy of Allon White we can now listen to our playlists so me and the good lady were hollering some magnificent tunes at the tops of our voices much to the amusement of passing traffic (including such top popular beat combos as Depeche Mode, Fleetwood Mac, Adam and the Ants and Queen). Our version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the traffic jam near M18 left us exhausted and we didn’t give a hoot. That’s drivin’ a Morgan for you. HB

44 miles only but a great deal of fun. Over to Ashby de la Zouch for the DonMog Grass Autotest. I failed to feature on the podium but Mrs F missed the ladies trophy by 2 seconds. A grand day out.
We were very lucky that the weather dried up when it did but the grass field we were using now looks a little less than pristine.

One of my favourite drives in the Almond Tart (with aeroscreens refitted !!) yesterday
Leave York at 06.30 over North Yorkshire Moors past Goathland to Whitby..down the Yorkshire coast..breakfast in Filey.
Home from 10.30 am before the hordes rush to the coast and cause big traffic jams.
Good start to the day !!!!
Ah..I love the sound of throttle bodies in the morning !!! (Robert Duval in Apocalypse Now )..I think ? !!

Did nearly 100 miles today - longest run so far.
Out for lunch with the car club and got caught in a heavy rain shower.
What have I learnt? 1; unlike the Stag you still get wet driving the Morgan in the rain, 2; if the wipers don't seem to be clearing the rain from the screen its because the inside of the screen is actually the wet side and 3; if you break hard the back of your neck gets wet as water rushes off the head rest!
Fun times indeed!
