I lived in Cambodia. It's illegal to run with your lights on during daylight hours but not illegal to run without lights on at night! That is a good reason to NOT go to Cambodia. Last time I got close to that place it was not good, dangerous, and you never knew what was coming your way.

Obie are they a plastic base or ceramic. If plastic with headlamps on they may melt as you suggest.
