In the steps of the mad Emperor
In the background, the ruins of the 'Chateau' (more a farmhouse really) de Broundet at Seranon in the Alpes-Maritimes. Napoleon slept for three hours there on the night of March 2 1815 and his men pitched camp outside. They had slogged it all the way (about 30 miles, mostly uphill, on rough terrain and in harsh weather) from Cannes in one day. And then they continued northwards. The Battle of Waterloo was fought three months later.

Interesting backdrop for the Morgans. Hope you are having an enjoyable trip.
I note that one Morgan had the hood up, was that to try to keep the sun off..? A US acquaintance Barbara Will burn created a Surrey (?) top to fit on their Morgan which kept the sun off and did not restrict airflow around the crew when on the move, I think Button has adopted a similar design...?

Yes, Howard with the red 4/4 had the hood up for that reason. But it was not really so hot today, so I had the hood down on mine and it was fine. You have to be careful though - I was quite badly sunburned in June when I underestimated the intensity of the rays.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.... We had one REALLY hot day in Italy some years back but I was younger then..When at LM Classic last year we were melting at the event, fortunately we had driven there in my good ladies car with air-con, I suspect I could not have coped with that sort of heat in the Morgan these days....
