Put the rack back on yesterday and loaded up for a night away with Mrs FT and the pooch on the Shotley Peninsular in Suffolk. Returned today via Aldeburgh and then Krazy Horse in Bury St Edmunds where I had a sit in the Plus 6 and was mightily impressed. They’ve also got a great range of trads in their showroom at the moment in some great colour combinations. Loved the dark red 80th Anniversary 4/4 and the metallic Damson Roadster. Mightily impressed they’ve got an Indian fast food joint next door as well. 280 miles total. Great!

A 150mile round trip down to Bosham. Beautiful sunny day not too hot and light winds, our iPhone maps had us vearing off the A 27 onto some dodgy B roads otherwise a super run. Time slipped away and so we returned on the A3 at speed all the way to Cobham, surprised at how civilised the drive turned out to be thundering up amongst the traffic. We were passed by an early Mustang coupe with a 66 number plate burning oil and sounding great.

A few pics from my trip to Suffolk. Tried but failed to put them in the photo gallery!

Journey in beautiful sunshine to/from Krazy Horse. New steering gaiters fitted under warranty held on by proper metal clips this time. Met an M3W club member there who was taking advantage of MMC invitation to have his early 5 speeder checked out. Not too much of a surprise to find it had a hairline crack on chassis near front suspension! This despite factory brace having been previously fitted. Fortunately with a friend who was able to give him lift home. Also fortunate he still has an ARP4 to play with.

My idea of a change of route for return turned out to be a bad one. The Bury to Thetford road had just been re-surfaced leaving vehicles to bed the grit in. Guess motor rollers are a thing of the past although there are plenty of restored steam ones who's owners would welcome a little income - call it age and rose tinted spectacles wink Dust everywhere despite low speeds then queues at two sets of temporary lights which seem to pop up ever more frequently, especially this time of the year.

Good pictures Mr Fox. Used to live in Shirley Gate so often walked past where your first picture was taken to get to the Shipwreck on a Friday night.... and drove past where you took the the picture by the bridge to get to/from home for several years....

Edinburgh to Inverness yesterday. Gale force winds, but only occasional showers so a good run!
Pouring rain today - only a short drive planned to Tain with two distilleries to visit. Should give us enough supplies for the evening!!

I was wondering where you might be as I looked out at rain running down my windows here in West Central Scotland, I do hope the weather does not put you off a tad…. but then you are a Morganeer thas up for anything..(-: As Billy Connolly once said, "There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing for the prevailing conditions." Not an exact quote perhaps as there is no evidence of the "F" word in the sentence...???

Hope you packed your wellies and waterproofs and that you are at least blessed with a wee bit of clear sky on occasion Ken.

147 miles from home to Allon White and back (Phil is a top bloke there, no connection just v satisfied customer). Nipples greased, gaiters fitted (joints prevented me from getting down there sorry Dave W), sat in the Plus Six and dreamed. Oh and got a new MOG number plate (early birthday present from Lady HB).
Lovely weather, as per usual lots of waves n smiles. Even got tooted at on A1 by some yoof in a hot hatch with his 3 mates. All four yoofs waving and then driver yoof put his hazard lights on as they left me behind. Teehee, the little ragamuffins. I could tell envy when I saw it....
Felt goooooood!

Torrential rain from Inverness to Tain! Rear hood catch on one side not holding, leak has now found its way into glove compartment.
Great visits to GlenOrd & Glenmorangie distilleries - clouds cleared and bright sunshine this evening so nice walk to a restaurant for a great dinner followed by a sample or two from the bottle liberated from a distillery!

On to John O'G tomorrow
