At home in garage, neutral, no handbrake. Everywhere else, in gear and handbrake on. Don't trust a fly off handbrake to stay on. Start with clutch pedal depressed.
That is the way I do it all time

I’ll choose this one. There are many different opinions on here - but I have to choose one! Thanks all

At home in garage, in gear, no handbrake. Everywhere else, in gear and handbrake on. On a slope wheels turned so if it moves its into the kerb. Start with clutch pedal depressed.

Always in gear, always handbrake on. Mind you I park her outside and my drive has a slight slope to it. Never left long enough to have handbrake problems

I always depress the clutch to start the car. This is primarily because I've owned cars where there's a clutch switch, so you have to depress the clutch. Quite frankly not bad practice in a manual transmission vehicle. There is actually no reason for the starter to be turning over anything other than the flywheel. I know there's probably no issues in practice, but it isn't a bad habit.
