I have previously posted pics here from Flickr and more recently Photobucket. But now I can’t seem to get images to show up here, only the code. Anyone able to explain in non-tech terms how to do this? Not sure which changed: the Photobucket method, the TM method, or my own cerebral hemispheres....

Not easy to explain in non-tech terms but in essence, all you need to display a picture is the address of where it is hosted placed between the IMG tags, e.g. [IMG]http://www.flickr.com/my-picture.jpg[/IMG] For hosting, you might like to try out the TM-Image library. Instructions here: https://www.tm-img.com/page/ifuAlso worth watching Bonesie's helpful video here: https://youtu.be/-cY5NpXXyMwAnd unless you have a paid account with them forget Photobucket. They stopped allowing free third-party hosting some time ago and anything you might have had previously will be watermarked.

I used to upload images to TinyPic (now defunct), which converted them into an IMG embed link. If I try to add the IMG prefix and suffix to image source links, I can insert the link into posts but not the image itself. What am I doing wrong?

If I try to add the IMG prefix and suffix to image source links, I can insert the link into posts but not the image itself. What am I doing wrong? From your description, I'd guess that you aren't using the HTTP address of the actual image. The important thing is that the URL must point to an image file, i.e. a filename ending with an image type extension such as .JPG , .JPEG, .PNG etc. It's a common problem that people try and use the image page rather than the file. For instance, the link below is to a picture hosted on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/suzi54241/41953844760...but that is NOT the image, it's a page containing the image. The actual filename is: https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1776/41953844760_109ae72179_b.jpgNote the difference, especially the ".jpg" extension on the second URL. The first link will not work between IMG tags but the second one will. Hope that's not too techy!

Thank you for explaining that. Got it.
