Maybe these are not "Standard" lamps since they are halogen units.

I had to remove a small ridge, one of several on the back of the lamp, to get it to fit past the bottom locking tab on the bucket. So, no return, plus, the box is long gone.
I'll post a photo of it.

Lightspeed, I hope you can get these to fit. I put JW Speaker EVOs on my jeep a couple of years ago and they are worth every penny! If they don't work, then you might consider these: HIKARI LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit-H4.

Yep, they are ridiculously inexpensive, but oddly they aren't crap. I had someone recommend them and figured I couldn't go too wrong for the price. 5 mins to install them them both and they work great!

Thanks for the suggestion Phil. My main goal in swapping the headlamps was to draw less current on the charging circuit so I could put dedicated driving lamps and fog lamps up front and I would not be overloading the circuits and in particular the generator/alternator that is built into a space that takes an act of god to get to. if something should go wrong.


BTW, the back of the lamps, the fins, do not contact the bucket. I am sure it has something to do with the thickness of the outer lip the the lamps.

Cool lights but completely different looking. Here are the ones I have. Sure they are expensive but very bright

This is what I have, the same that you have shown from JPCycles.

There must be a difference in the bucket bezel ring that has not been discovered by anyone else, yet.

Sorry I was looking at the wrong picture. The back looks identical to the ones I installed. I didn’t grind anything off. On the W clips the leg would slip up into the bezel in some places further and allowed them to lay flat. If you look carefully you can see where the leg deformed the bezel a bit and the leg will slip up further. You are bringing back bad memories of my frustration. I figure out once you do it once you can do it again in half the time. The W clips are a real pain. Also going off of recollection but I don't think I used the special groves on the new light and just had the w clip line up on the flat part of the new light.

If you don’t solve this I will pull one off over the weekend and send you a pick. Just let me know.

By the way the lights are much better so worth getting it to work.

I guess I have to spread out the W clips far enough to rotate them so the U part lays flat on the inner lip of the led lamp. That is the only thing I have not tried. It basically turns the W clip into a very flat W.

Well, I must say that persistence pays off, as well as the kind reassurance from fellow TMrs. I managed to get the W clips rotated flat onto the small rim of the LED lamp, and it worked with the W clips spread way out to what I would call a lazy W.
