I didn't like all that whacking even with the right hammer so swapped mine to the octagonal type so I could use a 'spanner'. Now of course I have alloys so the problem doesn't arise.
Still prefer the look of wires though.

Although I applaud the workmanship, may I question the need. I have always used a Thor hammer with the replaceable heads made of some sort of nylon material. This type of hammer was first shown to me by Keith at BHM and if he uses it then I need say no more. I've got you beat Reg in that I have TWO Thor hammers with the nylon replaceable heads. One I keep in my garage and the other slightly smaller Thor nylon hammer that fits in my tool pouch in the car for emergencies. I've also got a wooden spinner saver as well so I can use any or all as the mood takes me! I justify them on the 'variety is the spice of life' rule. Plus you never know, someone might throw my wooden spinner saver on the fire and in that eventuality I will still have 2 options left!

Personally I wouldn't like to be hit with a hammer. We go to all the trouble of making sure that this bolt and that bolt is tightened to the recommended torque, then we wallop the spinners randomly with a hammer!
I use the MG Owners Club wheel hub wrench.

Looks very nice. I did have one years ago, until my ex decided to throw it on the fire! Still something else on the 'To do list'! Was she the 'ex' before or after the fire ?

The difference here is that after you have tightened the spinners with the thor hammer, the Rudge type ( which Morgans are I believe ) tighten themselves and in 10 years of doing this to mkore cars than I care to remember I have never had one come loose
Here for a good time not a long time!!

The correct hammer to use is the original lead hammer which would have been supplied in the cars original toolkit.
