Hello, I'm curious to know how do you guys (and girls) fold your 9 stud roofs while out on a drive. So, besides removing the hood from its rear fixings and storing it in the rear compartment, what is the best way to fold it? I have tried but I always seem to get a fold in the rear side windows which I do not want... I did a quick search but couldn't find anything. thank you in advance

When I had the mohair 9 stud I used to manage to tuck the rear side windows in by slipping them under the hood. I can’t explain how I did it - it’s a bit like trying to describe Origarmi - very difficult. I never had any creases. Experimentation is the key.
I love the 9 stud hood and will be ordering it on my new Roadster.

My method...I will take a photo later to show the final set up...... Release most of the studs including the SIDE turnbuckles but NOT the rear middle ones. Fold the hood in on itself ( mine needs two folds) so that the rear and side/corner windows are kept flat. Push this folded hood forward to cover the rear luggage shelf. Move the side ends round and refit to the side turnbuckles. This leaves the hood sticking up a bit so ease the centre part down just enough to keep rear mirror view clear. The folded hood now forms a cover for the luggage area and if needed, is quickly raised back almost like an easy-up hood. When parking you have the option of quickly raising the hood or use a storm cover. I have both a Librands one that covers the cockpit area and a John Taylor one that covers the bonnet. The Librands one is convenient as I put parking tickets in a clip on the windscreen and the cover can be positioned to keep it visible. Just to add....mine is Everflex not mohair.

I release the side turnbuckles but not rear ones.Fold the side panels in along the hood material between the side and rear window panels. Then roll the hood, not fold it into the gap behind the seats. I sometimes roll it around a piece of that foam plumbing pipe insulation material.

Tuck it behind the seats - folded if no luggage or not folded if covering luggage - this stops it ballooning in the wind. Make sure there is a "channnel2 for easy movement of the seatbelts. Trial & error I`m afraid.

I'll stick to the Easyup thank you!
I would prefer a better design that drops out of sight like the 1950s Alfa Romeos but I can live with the pram hood.

Hi Vassilis I have clear photos showing the 4 stages of folding that end up with an unfolded rear screen that I am happy to share. Unfortunately after spending over an hour wrestling with Photobucket and Fotosizer I am no nearer to success. I do not understand the jargon used in the TM threads on the issue. I would PM them to you if I knew how! Need a lightbulb moment or several.
