Your pic size has to be below a certain bit-number. If the pic's volume is too big the system does not accept before you resize it.

Help.!! Just spent an hour trying to get three photos on a post. I have resized them using third party software. Still too big!. Based on the first post on this thread I have tried to use photobucket but the recommended Username talkmorgan and the Password talkmogan kept giving an error response. What am I doing wrong?

I think the TalkMorgan Photobucket account is closed. Why not set up your own account? It doesn't cost anything.

There has been previous problems with the talkmorgan photobucket account, some clown thought it might be funny to change the password I believe is where it all went wrong. The result is that we open a personal photobucket account or a similar provider and copy and paste the IMG link directly into the post - other than a photo specific Gallery.
This also removes a little of the load for the administrators of the site.
I have on occasion posted on behalf of people if they hit the brick wall on it.
Good Luck.
p.s. We crossed over Tim.

This is a very old topic, there is a more up to date thread pinned in the Welcome Forum: How to Post a Photograph - FAQ Be sure to read to the end.

Then when I looked at it on TM I found that my whole photobucket library was available to anyone looking at the photos on my thread. That said there was nothing particularly sensitive in my library but it is "my library" so I deleted the thread.

Photobucket isn't a private storage area, it's designed to host pictures for public viewing.

All in all the whole issue of images in UBB, the forum software, is a thorny issue. UBB is one of the best packages out there but its handling of images leaves a lot to be desired and the developers don't seem to be interested in resolving the problems. Browsing through their own user forum will come up with dozens of examples of frustrated forum administrators and a bundle of suggested fixes and work arounds that all require custom software and/or hands on administration. The forum is http://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/forum_summaryAnd when I went to get the link the first thing I noticed was this thread: http://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthre...load#Post260102Other than the auto sizing of photos here is another issue which needs to be addressed by the forum software and that is the creation of periodic (daily, weekly ,monthly) folders so that the size of the image folders does not get out of hand. Huge image folders have the problem that they critically slow the forum software. PS. Update! It does look as though some of these issues are being addressed. The upcoming version of UBB will have the possibility of automatically sizing attachments and it looks as though a lot of work is going into galleries, I hope this includes automatic re-sizing too.
